Can Faith Move Mountains?

Can our faith move mountains?

People sometimes attack, mock, ridicule; choose your verb, us "Word of Faith"  preachers for saying that words can effect our lives. The problem, of course, is that we didn't come to the Bible with this idea and try to squeeze this meaning out of some obscure scripture, we found it fairly plainly stated in the Bible. Or as Dad Hagin used to say, "Some people seem to think that I wrote this scripture."

But it was Jesus who said:

You Can Have What You Say!

:30 Minutes Toward Victory. Here's the second video in our series, God Has Not Left Us Defenseless, it lasts about 28 minutes. Jesus said the words of our mouth can move the mountains in our life. This was such an important principle of Jesus' ministry that he taught it to his disciples on many different occasions, in different ways as he was teaching them to walk in the Kingdom of God. Broadband version. 56k version.

God Has Not Left Us Defenseless

God has not left us here on this earth defenseless. He's given us weapons we can use to overcome in life. The storms of life come to all but Jesus said that we can get to a place where we can have victory over storms which might otherwise cause our destruction. Sickness, disease, poverty, lack, family destruction do not discriminate. They come to attack Christians and non-Christians alike. But God has not left us defenseless. Here's the video, broadband version. Here's the video 56k version.

Did Jesus Die Spiritually?

Ali emails the following question:

Did Jesus die spiritually and physically when He was on the Cross and went to hell for 3 days and on the 3rd day God rose Jesus up?

Let's take the noncontroversial parts first: Yes, Jesus died physically. Yes, Jesus rose from the dead on the 3rd day.

I'm assuming that Ali is really focusing on the, Did Jesus die spiritually?, and the Did Jesus go to hell?, parts of the question, because these issues have been a source of controversy for Word of Faith ministries like ours. Some people have, I believe unfairly and without any biblical basis, suggested that saying that Jesus died spiritually or that Jesus went to hell is a heresy.

So did Jesus die spiritually?

World's Greatest Pony Ride!

Just got back from a little trip to L.A. Took the kids to the zoo. As we were looking for parking we noticed signs for the pony rides so after a couple hours in the zoo we went to check it out. The Griffith Park pony rides have to be the greatest pony rides in the world. I was just expecting the typical pony's on a horse walker contraption but it was actually a little race course.1_1 (Click on the photos for a larger image.) With three lanes, Slow, Medium and Fast. 2(They also had a wagon ride and a ride with the horse walker contraption.) Stevie and Chris rode both the slow and medium. 3It was great. The ride consists of two laps around the little track. It cost $2 per ride and the wait was only about 5 minutes between rides. If you're looking for something fun to do in L.A. with little kids, I highly recommend it.  Update: It turns out that Becky's dad, who grew up next to Griffith Park, used to work at the pony rides, or has he put it, "I used to run it by myself. In those days it cost 10 cents.0_1
