Love this 2 minute clip from one of Papa Hagin's sermons, Possessing What Is Ours. Pretty much sums up what I know about the Christian life. I've added the slides for emphasis.
- If we want people to receive we have to get God's Word into their hearts.
- In order to get God's word into their hearts we have to deal with their head, intellect, emotions, traditions, religious training. We do this by teaching and teaching and teaching the Word of God. But to paraphrase Jesus, you can't put new teaching into full cups.
- Meditating on God's Word will cause it, eventually, to come alive in your heart. Preaching God's Word can cause it to come alive in the hearts of receptive hearers.
